
Sonja joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2011 and now serves as one of our Office Managers. Originally from Lathrop, she brings over 35 years of experience in veterinary medicine and enjoys being the person with the solution, helping keep the clinic running smoothly for both clients and staff.
At home, Sonja cares for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, parrots, horses, potbelly pigs, and chickens. Outside of work, she loves being a grandma and spending time outdoors. Her shepherd, Kobe, and heeler, DJ, especially enjoy camping trips with her and her husband.

Shelly is originally from Dearborn, Missouri, and has been a part of Brisbane Veterinary Services since 2012, serving as one of our Office Managers. She has been working in vet med since 1987 and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. Shelly values meeting clients and their pets, supporting her team, and never misses a chance to keep learning something new.
At home, Shelly keeps busy with a lively crew of animals, including dogs, a cat, and several horses — all with personalities as big as hers. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids, as well as competing in team penning and sorting, trail riding, and spending time outdoors. She’ll also admit a good reality TV binge day every now and then isn’t a bad way to relax.

Mandy joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant, but she has been in veterinary medicine for 25 years, bringing decades of experience to every patient she cares for. She especially enjoys performing dentals, as well as looking after hospitalized patients and helping ensure they are comfortable and supported during recovery.
At home, Mandy stays busy with her animals: two Miniature Australian Shepherds, Ollie and Ivy; a Coonhound named Mylee; an American Bulldog named Hank; a miniature poodle, Georgie; and several very laid back cats.

Nataliya joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2023 as a Veterinary Technician. Originally from Australia, she began studying and working in veterinary medicine in 2021 and holds a Certificate II in Animal Studies and a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing from TAFE NSW. She enjoys building relationships with patients and their families and has a growing interest in internal medicine.
At home, Nat shares her life with her cat, Arlo, who loves people and never turns down a good snuggle. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and relaxing while watching her favorite shows.

Rachel joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant. She especially enjoys large animal and equine medicine, with an emphasis on lameness and sports medicine cases. She appreciates that no two days in veterinary medicine are ever the same and can most often be found assisting Dr. Maggie with large animal appointments.
Originally from Kansas City, Rachel shares her home with four dogs, three cats, three horses, and six mini donkeys — though she insists the donkeys are the only “precious angels” among them.

Anna has been a part of Brisbane Veterinary Services since the very beginning, but she officially joined the team as a Veterinary Assistant in 2020. Growing up around the clinic sparked her passion for veterinary medicine, especially large animal care.
Originally from Kearney, Missouri, Anna shares her life with two dogs — Nader, a blue heeler, and Gator, a border collie — as well as her horse, Bulldog. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her competing in rodeos.

Lauren joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant and brings eight years of experience in veterinary medicine. She especially enjoys phlebotomy and internal medicine, and takes pride in helping patients go home feeling better than when they arrived.
At home, Lauren shares her life with two dogs: Chesney, a Golden Retriever who is the ultimate cuddle bug, and Waylon, a Corgi often mistaken for a baby fox. Outside of work, she enjoys photography and spending time with family and friends.

Marissa is from Smithville, Missouri and joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in September 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant, although she has been in veterinary medicine since 2017. Marissa enjoys building strong relationships with both patients and their owners and has experience caring for a wide variety of animals, from dogs and cats to horses and even wild birds of prey.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and spending time in nature with animals.

Erin is originally from Smithville, Missouri, and joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2021 as a Veterinary Receptionist. She enjoys meeting the many pets who come through the clinic and helping keep things running smoothly at the front desk.
At home, Erin shares her life with two dogs, Nellie and Odie, and two cats, Lil Mitt and Kilo. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son and being outdoors.

Lauren is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, and joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2024 as a Veterinary Receptionist. She enjoys getting to know clients and especially likes seeing the wide variety of animals that visit.
At home, Lauren has three dogs and four cats, and hopes to one day expand her menagerie to include chickens, goats, cows, and more. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, thrifting, walks with her dogs, and spending time with her family.

Delaney was born and raised in Smithville, Missouri, and joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2024 as a Veterinary Receptionist. She enjoys connecting with clients, meeting the many animals that come through the clinic, and helping families feel supported while their pets receive care. She especially enjoys learning more about the large animal side of veterinary medicine.
At home, Delaney stays busy raising her three kids and enjoying life on the farm with a variety of animals, including three dogs, four horses, a donkey, and a Mini Hereford bull. Outside of work, she loves riding horses and taking her kids along on new adventures.

Jillian joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2019 as our Kennel Manager. Having grown up on a farm, she’s been caring for animals her entire life. She has a special focus on senior and special needs pets and is a Level 3 certified pet handler, giving her particular skill with anxious or high-energy dogs.
At home, she shares her life with a handful of rescued pets, including dogs, cats, and puggle sisters. She has a natural ability to read canine body language and is passionate about making every boarding pet feel safe, comfortable, and well-loved during their stay.

Ava joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2024 as a Kennel Technician, but she is originally from England. She enjoys working closely with the animals in her care, making sure each one is comfortable and well-looked after. She also plans to attend K-State for her Bachelor’s in Pre-Veterinary/Animal Science.
Outside of the clinic, Ava can usually be found riding her horse Vador, a 12-year-old Thoroughbred born in Argentina who previously performed as a race horse, or with her Cavapoo, Rupert (aka Ru). She also enjoys painting and outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping — and somehow finds time to compete in show jumping.

Savannah was born and raised in Smithville, Missouri, and joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2023 as a Kennel Technician. She loves spending her days with animals, learning about different breeds, and ensuring each animal gets the care and attention they deserve. She has a special interest in animal behavior, as well as large animal and equine nutrition.
At home, Savannah enjoys the company of her three dogs — Bentley, Ari, and Shyla. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her taking long walks with her dogs, creating art, writing, or riding horses.

Peggy has been a part of Brisbane Veterinary Services since 2014. She enjoys caring for the animals who come through the clinic and supporting the team to keep everything running smoothly. Originally from Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, she now happily lives on 20 acres, which she shares with a lively group of animals, including dogs, horses, goats, a potbellied pig, and barn cats. Outside of work, she loves riding horses and spending time outdoors. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Resource Management.

Sheldon joined Brisbane Veterinary Services in 2021 as the resident clinic cat. His daily duties include supervising the front desk, greeting visitors, and locating the sunniest spots in the building for important naps.
Between naps, Sheldon enjoys keeping staff company and accepting attention from anyone willing to offer a good head scratch.
